Service Description

Developmental Editing is the most all-encompassing editing service I offer. By that, I mean that, while a developmental edit generally focuses on "big picture" edits like structural changes, plot adjustments, and character exploration, I'll also make smaller notes about your writing itself—comments on my thoughts as I read your work, and suggestions for how to improve it, both now and when you're writing and revising in the future. I think of it as a way to help writers know what needs to happen in revisions, be able to address large-scale issues in a text, and develop their craft going forward.
